A man randomly slashed a 60-year-old woman in the face this week in the Bronx, police said Saturday.
The unsuspecting woman was walking along East Tremont Avenue, near Samuel Young Park on the edge of Parkchester, Thursday around 4:30 p.m., when the unidentified man approached her from behind, tapped her on the shoulder, and when she turned, sliced her across the forehead and eyes without saying a word, police said.
The suspect then fled westbound on East Tremont in a gray Honda Civic with a dent on the passenger side of the front end of the vehicle, cops said.
Emergency medical services transported the victim to Jacobi Medical Center, where she needed 18 stitches to close the wound, cops said.
The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect, who cops said stands 5’6″ tall and weighs about 160 pounds.
Police have released a photo of the vehicle the attacker used to flee.
