It’s been a roller-coaster first 15 games for the Knicks this season. From 0-2 to 2-3 to 5-3 to 5-8 to now 7-8. They won games on back-to-back days Sunday and Monday for the first time in three years, after 40 failed attempts. The team is in the top eight in the Eastern Conference right now, despite the up-and-down start. It’s been all about that defense propelling them to low-scoring victories.

To get into everything going on in Knicks land and take a trip down memory lane, we bring you a new episode of the “Big Apple Buckets” podcast with Sal Licata and Jerome “The Junk Yard Dog” Williams.

Big Apple Buckets Opening Segment with Sal & The Junk Yard Dog:

  • Knicks win on back-to-back days for the first time in three years. Defense was the key for the Knicks success and turnovers being down.
  • This team has some dogs. RJ Barrett is getting to the rack effectively. Immanuel Quickley’s “float game” is on point. Elfrid Payton is playing well.
  • Knicks need Alec Burks’ shooting. Their offense struggles. Kevin Knox has been inconsistent, but can prove a boost on offensive end when he’s hot.
  • Four-game West Coast trip ahead. The pros and cons of the West Coast games as a player and as a fan staying up late to watch.

Inside The Dog House: JYD tells a story from his playing days on the team bus to a MLK Day afternoon game where one of his teammates was being yelled at on the phone by one of his baby mamas. JYD made a rap song about it.

Charlie Ward Interview:
Knicks guard (1994-2004), Host of “Bleav in the ACC” Podcast

  • Heisman Trophy winner to the NBA. Choosing the NBA over the NFL.
  • The infamous fight with P.J. Brown and why he regretted it.

  • The Knicks trading him in a package for Stephon Marbury. Was this a mistake?
  • Being religious and trying to stay pure on the road in his career.
  • His acting debut on Netflix and if he will do any more acting.

Sal’s Story: Sal looks back to watching Game 5 of the Knicks-Heat playoff series in 1999 and what happened after Allan Houston made that game-winning shot.
