Brooklyn 6-year-old calls 911 after mom is stabbed

A 6-year-old Brooklyn girl played hero Sunday morning by calling 911 after her mom was stabbed during a domestic dispute, police said.

“Luckily she acted like a grownup because she might have saved her mother’s life,” one police source said of the girl’s heroics.

Cops said the youngster’s 25-year-old mother was stabbed twice inside the family’s Prospect Heights apartment during a fight with her boyfriend shortly before 2 a.m.

The woman’s 24-year-old boyfriend fled the apartment, and the girl then picked up the phone and dialed 911 — possibly saving her mom’s life.

The girl told the police dispatcher that a man tried to kill her mother, a police source said.

The source said the girl also made a second 911 call to tell the dispatcher her mother was bleeding from her mouth and body.

The woman was found in the living room with stab wounds to the arm and chest.

She was taken to New York Presbyterian-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

“I heard a big commotion late last night, and I’m not surprised he attacked her,” a neighbor told The Post Sunday. “They fought a lot.”

She described the victim’s boyfriend as “loud and rude.”

“I feel bad for her,” said the neighbor, who asked not to be identified. “She’s young and with a young kid.”

The 6-year-old girl was home with a 1-year-old sibling at the Lincoln Place home when the incident took place, cops said.

Police are searching for the suspect but no arrests have been made.
