Texas nurse killed by boyfriend in murder-suicide, cops say

A beloved Texas nurse was fatally shot by her boyfriend, who then turned the gun on himself, authorities said.

McKinney police found Marjorie Tate, 54, a nurse at Texoma Medical Center, dead from a gunshot wound in her home on Nov. 18, KTEN-TV reported.

Tate’s daughter reported her missing that same day.

Cops also found the body of 42-year-old Marcus Tate-Clay inside the home, who they believe fatally shot himself after killing Tate, according to the Herald Democrat.

It’s unknown if the couple had been arguing before the slayings. Police are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide.

Friends say they saw Tate at work two days before her death, and didn’t suspect anything was wrong in her relationship with Tate-Clay.

“She just never spoke negatively of him,” co-worker Mandy Phillips told KTEN. “There was never a concern about her safety at all. It was completely out of the blue.”
