Orlando cop charged with breaking into ex-fiancée’s home

An off-duty officer with the Orlando Police Department was arrested Monday for allegedly breaking into his ex-fiancée’s apartment as she was with another man, a new report said.

Ahmad Abu-Soud, 34, is accused of breaking into the home at about 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 22 while the victim was drinking wine in a bedroom with a coworker, according to arrest records obtained by Clickorlando.com.

The victim told the man to hide in her closet, which Abu-Soud ran to and yelled, “Who’s there, who’s there?”

Abu-Soud’s ex-fiancée told investigators she jumped on the officer’s back to prevent him from opening the closet and felt a firearm on his waistband, according to the affidavit.

The former couple struggled some more, with Abu-Soud eventually relenting and hugging his ex after she threatened to call 911 and started screaming for help, the report said.

The officer also chucked the woman’s phone and apartment key during the fracas, arrest records show.

The two ended their three-year relationship a month or two ago, the woman told police.

Abu-Soud was charged with armed burglary of a dwelling with a firearm, tampering with a witness and domestic violence battery.
