Ice-T’s struggling father-in-law no longer a COVID-19 denier

Ice-T is coming at us with a SVU: A Scary Virus Update.

Cautioning covidiots against shrugging off the dangers of the deadly coronavirus, the 62-year-old “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” staple took to social media with a shocking snapshot of his ”no masker” father-in-law, who came “close to death” after failing to take the global health crisis seriously.

“My father-in-law ‘Coco’s dad’ was a serious ‘No Masker’ COVID hit him. Pneumonia in both lungs.. 40 days in ICU close to death,” Ice-T tweeted Sunday about wife Coco Austin’s father, Steve Austin. “Now he’s on Oxygen indefinitely. Ohhh he’s a Believer now..#COVIDisNotAGame.”

Doubling down on his demand that people recognize the grim severity of the disease, the “O.G. Original Gangster” rapper-turned-actor shared some words of wisdom he received from hip-hop veteran Scarface — who in April revealed he was “inches away from death” after testing positive for COVID-19 and was hit with kidney failure.

“Some people think a Mask is a sign of weakness,” Ice-T tweeted. “My homie [Scarface] who had it, told me.. ‘Ice, your Gangster can’t fight this sh**…..’ I heard him loud and clear!”

While most fans openly appreciated the pony-tailed “SVU” star’s candor, one apathetic Twitter critic responded to the tweets by announcing they felt “no sympathy for non maskers who get COVID.” Ice-T told another critic that he was just “trying to warn people,” and he closed his coronavirus cautionary tale by writing, “I would NEVER wish ANYONE sickness… I don’t need that Karma.”

Coco first revealed her father contracted the virus on Father’s Day in June.

“My, tough as an ox dad, the one that never goes to the doctor, the one that doesn’t even take tylenol for pain, the one that never EVER gets sick, [we’re] talking about the original Steve Austin (cuz thats his real name) is in the ICU requiring oxygen for #covid19,” she said, captioning an Instagram post of her and Steve together. “He is having trouble breathing and feels like he is being stabbed with pins throughout his body .. For all the people that say it can’t happen to your family..think again.”

In July she told Page Six that her family was “falling apart” as her father battled the disease.

“I just want him to pull through,” she said. “I’ve been sending as much love as I can but there’s only so much I can do from a distance. I want to be in the room with him right now and hold his hands, and just let him know that his family loves him, to push through, and this is too early for him to go.”

She gave an update on Steve’s health in August.

“Covid aftermath … My dad made it back home! He is covid free but is still dealing with damaged lungs that covid leaves behind.. He is bound to an oxygen machine till who knows when but is very lucky ..He said being in the hospital for a month was like jail,” she wrote on Instagram. “No windows No visitors and laying in one spot and not being able to walk around was getting to him.. He also adds you could hear people moan in pain during the night and some people werent making it ..So sad.”

Ice-T and Coco have been married for 15 years and share a 5-year-old daughter, Chanel.
