Enter FOX Bet’s free $100,000 contest: You can count on Raiders to win a close one

This week’s Sunday NFL Super 6 contest, run by FOX Bet, includes a particularly intriguing matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders (-3) and Atlanta Falcons.

The 6-4 Raiders nearly completed a season sweep of the Chiefs on Sunday. Along with handing 9-1 Kansas City its only loss earlier this year, Las Vegas has beaten the 8-2 Saints and 7-3 Browns. The Raiders’ losses have come to the Chiefs, Buccaneers, Bills and Patriots.

After a series of crushing, improbable losses to start the season, the 3-7 Falcons appeared to be on the rebound before Sunday’s shellacking by the Saints, in by far their worst game of the season.

So there is an argument both teams are better than their records, though it also is quite clear the Raiders are the better team. Normally the Falcons would get a home-field boost, but not in COVID conditions that provide no crowd intimidation. But the travel part does still exist, and this will be the Raiders’ fourth trip to the Eastern Time Zone this season.

That travel, combined with playing a mentally and physically exhausting Sunday night game, puts the Raiders at a disadvantage. The Falcons will be eager to wipe away memories of this past week’s embarrassment. Those factors will level the playing field.

And one thing we know about the 2020 Falcons is that they have learned new and incredible ways to lose games in the most heartbreaking fashion. Chalk up another, as the Raiders steal a sloppy win.
