Robert Griffin III took the field at FedExField Sunday for the first time since his fall from grace in Washington, and it went about as well as his last two seasons there did.
The Ravens’ backup quarterback replaced starter Lamar Jackson late in the fourth quarter of Baltimore’s 31-17 win over the Washington Football Team, but Griffin’s lone pass attempt of the game was intercepted by Washington cornerback Kendall Fuller.
It was Fuller’s second interception of the day after picking off Jackson late in the second quarter to set up a Washington field goal.
Washington selected Griffin second overall in the 2012 NFL Draft and the 6-foot-2 QB earned a Pro Bowl nod in his first season. But it was all downhill from there as a slew of injuries derailed a strong start to his career and ultimately led to Washington releasing him in March 2016.
Griffin signed with the Cleveland Browns in free agency following the 2015 season before signing with Baltimore in 2018, where he’s served as backup for the last two-plus seasons to both Jackson and Joe Flacco.
