Drive-by paintball shooters target pedestrians on Staten Island

Drive-by paintball attacks left three people injured on Staten Island last week, cops said Wednesday.

The three incidents took place about three miles apart in the suburbs of Mid Island on Sept. 25 beginning at about 9:40 p.m. and ending at 10 p.m., cops said.

The first attack happened in front of 254 Lander Ave. when a 37-year-old man was struck by several paintball pellets fired from a moving vehicle that can be seen on surveillance video released by police driving past him and another person as they stood on a corner, cops said.

The second incident happened about 10 minutes later in front of 1376 Forest Ave. when a 56-year-old man was struck by several paintball pellets fired from a moving vehicle, cops said.

In the third incident, around 10 p.m., a 32-year-old woman was walking around Richmond Avenue and Lamberts Lane when she was struck by several paintball pellets also fired from a vehicle.

In all three cases, the vehicle was described as a gray sedan. All three victims suffered pain but refused medical attention.
