Brewers vs. Twins prediction: Brandon Woodruff will stymie Minnesota

The Minnesota Twins entered Wednesday with the third-lowest team ERA in the majors, but they need their ace to keep pace.

Since last August, Jose Berrios has made 15 starts, posting a 5.86 ERA with 1.5 home runs and 3.7 walks per allowed per nine innings. He’s backed by a team that ranked 27th in home batting average (.214), and was hitting 1.1 home runs per game in Minnesota compared to 2.1 per game on the road.

On Thursday, they meet a Brewers team that ranked fifth in road team ERA and will pitch Brandon Woodruff, who has a career record of 17-7. Woodruff has given up three earned runs or fewer in 11 of his last 12 starts and is registering 10.5 strikeouts per nine innings and a 3.16 ERA this season.

With the Brewers bullpen on the road holding foes to a .195 batting average, Milwaukee should be able to keep the Twins bats in check and get the victory.

The play: Brewers, +120.
