Cardinals’ coronavirus outbreak wipes out series with Brewers

With more positive COVID-19 tests from members of the Cardinals, Saturday’s game between St. Louis and the Brewers was postponed.

The two teams didn’t play Friday and as at least four members of the Cardinals tested positive for the novel coronavirus, The Post’s Joel Sherman reported. There were at least four new positive tests after two Cardinals players tested positive on Friday.

The Athletic reported most of the Cardinals’ new positive tests are staff members, not players.

The Cardinals and Brewers were scheduled to play a doubleheader on Sunday, which was also postponed. On Friday, commissioner Rob Manfred told union director Tony Clark that the season is in jeopardy if everyone doesn’t start doing a better job of being safer. Player reps conveyed that conversation to teammates as well.

With 18 Marlins players testing positive, they have yet to play since last Sunday, and neither have the Phillies, their opponent over the weekend.
