Teen, two other men hurt in separate Brooklyn shootings

A teen and two other men were hurt in three separate shootings in Brooklyn Wednesday — the second day in a row of statistical declines in shootings, cops said Thursday.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the hand after a dispute on Newport Street near Strauss Street in Brownsville around 8:45 p.m., cops said. He was transported to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center.

About 15 minutes earlier, a 27-year-old man was shot in the back after a dispute on the grounds of the Williamsburg Houses on Stagg Walk near Humboldt Street, cops said.

The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst with non-life-threatening injuries.

A man was also shot at Third Avenue and East 169th Street in the Claremont Village neighborhood of the Bronx around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday.

The victim, a 24-year-old man, was taken to Lincoln Medical Center by private means with non-life-threatening injuries.

The NYPD has recorded a roughly 70-percent spike in gunplay across the city this year.

On Tuesday, the city saw a total of seven shooting incidents with nine victims — compared to eight shootings, also with nine victims on the same day last year, according to police.

With Wednesday’s three shootings falling short of the four logged the same day in 2019, there have been two consecutive days of gun-violence reduction.
