Elderly woman says she was slapped and set on fire by silent attackers

An elderly Brooklyn woman was briefly set on fire by two men who never spoke a word during the heinous attack, according to a report.

The 89-year-old victim, speaking in Cantonese through a translator, told ABC7NY the goons approached her near 16th Avenue and 77th Street after she left her Bensonhurst home.

Surveillance video shows the woman leaving her residence July 14 only to return home minutes later after having her clothes set on fire.

The woman said one of the attackers slapped her in the face and then she felt a sharp pain on her back, according to the report.

The quick-thinking senior pulled up her hair so it wouldn’t burn, and extinguished the flames by rubbing her back against a wall.

The fire, which investigators believe was started by a lighter or match, left a large scorch mark up the back of the woman’s shirt, according to the report.
