For anyone with big music-festival plans this summer, the countdown to 2021 has already begun in hopes that the coronavirus — the grinch that stole this concert season — will be gone.
Here are some of the major fests — and artists — we missed out on in 2020:
Coachella

The big daddy of festivals, this musical pilgrimage to the California desert was first postponed from April until October. And then it was canceled altogether for this year, depriving thousands of the chance to see headliners Travis Scott, Frank Ocean and Rage Against the Machine.
Governors Ball Music Festival

Gov Ball was all set to celebrate its 10th anniversary in stellar style during the first weekend of June. Missy Elliott, Vampire Weekend, Miley Cyrus, Solange and Stevie Nicks were among the music stars scheduled to descend upon Randalls Island.
Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival

In addition to fellow headliners Tool and Tame Impala, Lizzo was supposed to be having everybody feeling good as hell in Manchester, Tennessee. But the truth really did hurt when COVID killed the June festivities. The fest will return June 17 to 20, 2021.
Firefly Music Festival

Goth-pop princess Billie Eilish was due to be celebrating her Grammy-sweeping year with a headlining spot at Firefly. But Dover, Delaware, will have to wait — just like the rest of those fans who were supposed to see Eilish on her 2020 arena tour.
Riot Fest

While another Chicago festival — Lollapalooza — hadn’t announced its lineup before it was canceled, Riot Fest was planning to welcome such bands as Smashing Pumpkins, the Pixies and a reunited My Chemical Romance. But they’re all down for make-up dates next September.
