Houston is now home to Texas’ first drive-thru strip club

It’s all buns and no burger at this drive-thru.

A Texas jiggle joint has found a creative way to attract customers while still letting their ladies strut their stuff during the COVID-19 outbreak: A drive-thru strip club.

The ogling-only affair at the Vivid Gentleman’s Club in Houston — the first of its kind in the Lone Star state — is set up inside a makeshift tent-turned-club where leering customers can park for two songs, Chron, the Houston Chronicle’s sister site reported.

Dancers dressed in thongs, thigh-highs and masks show off their moves from behind several black barricades separating them from the cars. A photo of the scene shows dollar bills scattered across the floor below them as blue lights set up around them mimic a true club feel.

Drivers can also order food from the joint’s menu including nachos, burgers, chicken sandwiches, jalapeno poppers and an “authentic Italian” pizza that’s somehow “handmade in Italy,” the menu claims.

Customers can also order booze and pick from several types of six packs or an entire bottle of Fireball.
The live entertainment serves as a sort of distraction while the driver’s food is being prepared, Gino DiLollo, the strip club’s manager, told the outlet.

The manager claims that the move is more about keeping staffers afloat during the economic crash than for the club to make money.

“We racked the numbers and thought ‘should we do it?’ and realized that if we do it, we’re doing it for the entertainers, the staff and employees,” DiLollo said. “Because to keep us open, we just can’t do the numbers. We’re not making any money. This is purely for the staff.”

He continued, “Here’s the thing, I think we’re essential to the people we employ here to support their kids and whatnot. They rely on us, this is how they make a living. I do think we’re essential.”

One performer admits it’s been a difficult time to be an erotic dancer.

“It has definitely put a different perspective on my work field,” Jada said. “Luckily, with the club being open I’m still able to come into work and get money and take care of my bills.”

Texas restaurants can operate at half capacity and bars can sling to-go sales only.

But Vivid isn’t the first club to open a drive-thru alternative for horny customers.

Portland, Ore., strip club Lucky Devil Lounge brought their show to the curb for drivers in May, the Oregonian reported. And in New York City, one seemingly impromptu party in a parking lot appeared to have at least one stripper.
