Four people were killed and three others injured when gunfire erupted in Paterson, New Jersey, late Tuesday, according to a report.

The victims were struck about 11 p.m. in the area of Harrison and Carroll streets, WABC reported. The gunmen escaped in a black vehicle.

Four of them were rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where they later died, while the rest arrived at the hospital later, according to the news outlet.

The motive for the shooting was not immediately known, but it was believed to be gang-related, the outlet reported.

Since the beginning of 2020, 11 people have been killed and 56 injured in 43 shootings in the city of about 150,000 in Passaic County, WABC reported.
