NYC prepares for Phase Three reopening of salons, sports activities on Monday

New York City hair salons and tattoo parlors are among the businesses preparing to start up again Monday under Phase Three of the state’s reopening plan.

Personal-care services such as nail, massage, tattoo and tanning salons, as well as spas and businesses offering piercings and waxing, are allowed to reopen Monday — although still following social-distancing measures.

The businesses must limit their capacity to 50 percent of building occupancy, require face masks and ideally keep 6 feet apart. Services that require clients to take off face coverings, such as lip waxing and facials, won’t be permitted.

The Big Apple will allow for more outdoor recreational activities, too — including basketball, tennis, volleyball, handball and soccer — under the guidelines.

Dog runs will also see the return of pooches and their owners.

The city was expected to resume indoor dining Monday before Mayor Bill de Blasio put those plans on ice amid fears about soaring virus figures in other states and the lack of social distancing in the Big Apple outside places such as bars.
