This NYC apartment has a shower in the kitchen and costs $1,650 a month

A studio apartment right off Union Avenue and Broadway in Williamsburg with a separate kitchen for $1,650 sounds like a real estate dream come true.

That is, if you don’t mind showering in your kitchen.

An apartment listed at 114 Walton St. just across from the JMZ Lorimer Street subway stop features a sectioned-off sleeping area with toilet, spacious separate windowed kitchen with several wood cabinets, a sink, plenty of countertop space, a full-size refrigerator and stove.

But smack dab between that sink and fridge is a full working tub and shower. Yes, it’s possible to wash your dishes or whip up a sandwich while bathing.

Not surprisingly, the unique listing caught some attention on social media. One Twitter user posted a photo of the listing on June 29, garnering more than 200 comments and 8,000 likes.

“Which cupboard do you think the toilet is in,” commented another user. “You dry out the tub and, voila, you got your bed,” added another.

Even the listing agent acknowledged the oddness of this unit. “Luxuries or weird? Kitchen or bathroom vibes? You decide,” reads the description. “This is an old school loft apartment in Williamsburg. Weird but good priced if you don’t care (or do care and wanna be a weirdo).”

It went on, “This price for a spacious apartment is rare for the area!” And that’s not being facetious. There are many micro-apartments throughout the city that are much smaller and share a communal bathroom asking $1,100 to $1,450 a month.

As the listing states, with this one, “all you gotta do to call this home is deal with this bathtub situation.”

Although nearly everyone poked fun at the absurdity of it all, the apartment rented quickly, according to the listing agent. He confirmed to the New York Post that after just 14 days on the market, it was snatched up, and a new tenant is moving in shortly.
