The first transaction of the Leon Rose era is in the books.
The Knicks claimed former Auburn star and two-way guard Jared Harper on waivers from the Suns and waived two-way guard Kadeem Allen, the team announced Thursday.
Harper went undrafted in 2019 after leading Auburn to the Final Four. The 5-foot-11 point guard caught on with the Suns, playing three games for Phoenix while spending the bulk of the season in the G-League. In 33 games for the Northern Arizona Suns, Harper averaged 20.8 points and 5.7 assists while shooting 35.9 percent from beyond the arc.
The 22-year-old Harper is known for his quickness and athleticism despite his size. He joins Kenny Wooten as the Knicks’ two two-way players.
Allen had been with the Knicks since 2018, playing 29 games in the NBA and 63 games for the G-League Westchester Knicks.
