Body found burning along Hutchinson River Parkway in the Bronx

The body of a man was found burning on the side of the Hutchinson River Parkway early Monday, according to police.

The unidentified man was discovered around 12:15 a.m. on the northbound parkway near exit 6, toward New Haven, cops said.

Firefighters were responding to a call of a rubbish fire at the location and discovered the body upon extinguishing the flames, according to the FDNY and NYPD.

In addition to being burned, the man had his hands bound behind his back, News 12 reported.

It was not immediately clear if the man was burned alive or was already dead before his body was set on fire.

The city medical examiner’s office will confirm his cause of death.
