CC Sabathia, PFT Commenter make cameo on ‘Billions’

Yankees great CC Sabathia, along with Barstool Sports media personality Eric Sollenberger — better known as PFT Commenter — made cameos on Sunday night’s episode of “Billions,” the hit Showtime series chronicling the life of fictional hedge fund manager Bobby Axelrod.

The pair run into Axelrod at an NYC art gala in the seventh episode of season five, titled “The Limitless Shi*t,” which served as the mid-season finale due production being halted by the coronavirus.

“CC, what’s up?” says Axelrod, played by Damian Lewis. The character was inspired by local hedge-fund billionaire Steve Cohen, who nearly purchased the Mets over the winter before a deal with the Wilpons fell through.

“I like what I see,” the slimmed down former pitcher says while pointing to a wall of art, as Sollenberger, 36, stands in the background with his trademark sunglasses.

“Tune into @sho_billions now!!” Sabathia wrote on Instagram as the show was set to air. “You might even catch your boy on the episode Catch it on @showtime.”

The 39-year-old former pitcher retired after last season and is no stranger to acting. Sabathia also has made cameos on CBS’s “God Friended Me” and Fox Sports’ “Cubed.”

Last August, Sabathia made his stage debut in a one-night-cameo during the Broadway production of “Rock of Ages.”
