Jets sign their NFL draft pick Bryce Hall

The Jets signed fifth-round draft pick Bryce Hall on Monday. He is the first of the Jets’ nine draft picks to sign his contract.

Rookie contracts are mostly a formality these days because of the slotting system. Hall signed a four-year, $3.6 million deal. The cornerback out of Virginia is recovering from a serious ankle injury, but could compete for playing time at one of the thinnest position groups on the Jets if he is healthy.

The signing of draft picks has been slower than usual this year because of the COVID-19 restrictions. All of the picks usually are signed before training camp starts at the end of July and that should be the case again this year.
