Antonina Shevchenko shows off brutal damage from Katlyn Chookagian UFC fight

Antonina Shevchenko took an absolute battering against Katlyn Chookagian — and has the marks to prove it.

The UFC star shared a selfie showing her bruised and cut face after her loss at Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas. With the victory, Chookagian equalled Valentina Shevchenko’s UFC flyweight winning record — by dominating her sister

Chookagian was left heartbroken after losing against Valentina Shevchenko for the 125-pound title in her last fight.

But she took out her frustration on the champion’s older sister Antonina, winning every round and leaving her face severely battered. Much of the fight was fought on the floor as Chookagian, 35, landed takedowns at will before laying down some forceful ground and pound.

Antonina, 35, was able to survive the three-round beating but every judge scored the fight 30-25. Chookagian now has five wins in the flyweight division, meaning she is now level with champion Shevchenko.

“It feels really good. I don’t think I’ve gotten better since my last fight, I’ve always had this ability, it’s just being confident and doing it,” Chookagian said after the win.

“I think the people that are closest with me know that this is what I am capable of, so just seeing that I’m not surprised because I know I can do that, but being able to finally showcase it in the Octagon is a really good feeling. I will fight anyone. After my last fight, I was asking for fights and people were booked and then when all the fights started getting canceled, I didn’t have a fight booked so it’s going to be a long time before.

“I don’t want a long layoff, honestly I’m getting older, so I want to get as many fights in as I can, I’m not injured. What I see in the future, anyone, I don’t care who it is, anyone I’ll fight, I don’t care what their rankings are, who they just beat, who they just lost to, just give me a fight and I’ll take it.”
