64-year-old woman in vegetative state after vicious East Harlem assault

A 64-year-old woman was left in a vegetative state after being viciously attacked in East Harlem by a man who exposed himself before taking off on a bicycle, police said Wednesday.

The terrifying ordeal happened as the woman was walking on E. 111th Street near 2nd Avenue in just before 11:30 p.m. Monday when the perv came up behind the woman, put her in a chokehold and took her to ground — out of the frame of a surveillance camera, according to police.

Moments later, the security video captured the unknown man pulling out his penis and riding off on a Citi Bike, according to cops.

Police sources told The Post a witness called 911 after spotting the woman.

The woman was found by cops facedown and partially naked, and EMS rushed her to Metropolitan hospital, where she has regained consciousness but cannot speak, cops said.

The woman remained in critical condition Wednesday morning.

Sources say cops believe the woman was sexually assaulted because of her injuries.

The NYPD released photos and video of the suspect Wednesday.
