NJ residents are leaving an ‘inordinate’ amount of urine and feces in parks

The Garden State is getting a little too much watering.

New Jersey residents are leaving an “inordinate” amount of urine and feces behind in state parks amid the coronavirus outbreak in a “disheartening” display, the state’s top cop said Monday.

State Police Col. Pat Callahan said at the briefing with Gov. Phil Murphy that the state’s park police “reported an inordinate amount of urine and feces being left behind in the parks in water bottles.”

Callahan added that the police will take a “zero-tolerance” approach to the littering going forward to ensure the cleanliness of the parks.

“People should plan accordingly and should not be urinating in bottles and leaving them behind,” Callahan said, noting that public restrooms in the state are closed because of the outbreak.

“That report from the park police was certainly disheartening, to say the least,” he added.

Murphy agreed with Callahan’s tough words on the subject and said perpetrators will not get a warning if they’re caught “leaving something like that behind.”
