2 dead after car crash in the Bronx tears vehicle in two

A speeding Mercedes-Benz driver lost control while changing lanes in the Bronx and smashed into a support pillar Sunday morning, killing himself and one of two young women in the car with him, cops said.

Gasper Vallejo, 32, crashed his 2016 Mercedes C26 into the pillar in front of 523 Bruckner Blvd. in Hunts Point with such force, the vehicle was torn in two around 3:30 a.m., cops said.

All three occupants were ejected.

Vallejo and a 22-year-old passenger in the backseat died. A 25-year-old woman in the front passenger seat was taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition.

The speed limit on the stretch of road where the crash happened is 30 miles per hour, cops said.
