Listen to Episode 24 of ‘Big Apple Buckets’: Season Finale feat. Jeff Van Gundy

It’s the swan song for the debut season of the “Big Apple Buckets” podcast with Kazeem Famuyide. This is the final episode until NBA Draft time, barring any major Knicks news, of course. We had to go out with a bang for the finale.

Kaz opens the podcast thanking the guests, writers and the producer (me) for their contributions to our 24 episodes. He then talks about the Knicks’ season, their draft plans and what the offseason eventually could look like. Were there any positives to take from the regular season, which may be finished as the NBA mulls options for a potential return from its coronavirus suspension? What should the Knicks do in the draft? Will they have a drastically different roster next season?

Former Knicks head coach and ESPN NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy then joins the show. JVG discusses the 1998-1999 Knicks, the shortened season, the rivalries with the Heat and Pacers, going up against the Spurs in the NBA Finals, hanging on Alonzo Mourning’s legs and Marcus Camby accidentally punching him. He made sure to give interim Knicks coach Mike Miller a lot of credit for what he has done since taking over.

Big thanks to the New York Post team of writers for joining the shows all season. Knicks beat writer Marc Berman appeared on most episodes, and shoutouts to Mike Vaccaro, Peter Botte, Zach Braziller and Greg Joyce for coming on as well.

Thanks to all the guests that joined “Big Apple Buckets” this season:
