Firefighter, six others injured in Brooklyn basement blaze

A firefighter and six others were hurt early Saturday when a fire tore through a Brooklyn basement, officials said.
The blaze broke out at about 4 a.m. inside a two-story house on Legion Street near Sutter Avenue in Brownsville.
More than 130 firefighters helped quell the flames, and the fire was placed under control 45 minutes later.
The injured Bravest was taken to Brookdale Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, officials said.
Among the civilian victims, one was in critical condition at Brookdale, where another was in serious condition, officials said. Four more victims suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, authorities said.
