Gerrit Cole is seemingly enjoying the great outdoors amid the global coronavirus crisis that has seen officials encourage everyone to stay home.

On Tuesday, Cole’s pregnant wife, Amy, posted an Instagram story of the new Yankees ace fishing off a dock, writing “#quarantineactivites.”

Like other MLB teams, the Yankees are keeping their training facility open but allowing players, coaches and other staff members to return home if they choose. Cole and manager Aaron Boone were among those that decided to leave.

A second minor-leaguer within the Yankees organization tested positive for coronavirus Tuesday.

Cole, 29, signed a nine-year, $324 million contract as a free agent over the winter to become the Yankees’ new ace. Though he appeared in spring training, Cole’s official Yankees debut will have to wait as MLB delayed the start of the regular season as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
