Two NYC Law Department attorneys test positive for coronavirus

A pair of attorneys in the city’s Law Department have tested positive for coronavirus, The Post has learned.

One of the lawyers was believed to be connected to the outbreak in New Rochelle — where a large cluster of COVID-19 cases has been reported and the National Guard is enforcing a “containment zone,” according to the Law Department.

It’s unclear where the other lawyer picked up the bug, the spokesperson said.

“We’ve undertaken an intensive cleaning of the areas that may have been affected, including floors, offices and common areas, to ensure employees are safe,” the rep said.

The agency has “tremendously” cut down on the staffers in the office by allowing employees to work from home, which started this past weekend, to prevent any further spread and help practice social distancing, according to the spokesperson.

“We teleconference on a bi-weekly basis with general counsels from agencies across the city to review the issues to ensure the business of the city moves forward,” the spokesperson said.
