Two teens beat up MTA bus driver in the Bronx

A 54-year-old MTA bus driver was randomly attacked by two teenagers in the Bronx as he inspected an idling school bus blocking his way, police said Tuesday.

The driver exited the Bx27 bus at the corner of Boyton and Westchester avenues in Soundview around 1:30 p.m. Monday to check why the empty school bus in front of him was not moving.

“Why are you blowing the horn?” one of the boys asked the victim, who had been honking at the unoccupied bus.

Suddenly, they began repeatedly punching him, police said.

The victim was taken to Westchester Square Hospital, where he was treated for swelling to his right eye, forehead, and knee, officials said. He is in stable condition.
