Animatronic Baby Yoda toy now available, with Build-A-Bear version soon to follow

America’s most wanted Baby Yoda toy is finally here — almost.

Hasbro’s “The Child” animatronic toy blinks, coos, babbles and naps. And while it’s now available for pre-order for $60, you can’t actually hold the cute creature in your hot little hands until December.

The Child, aka Baby Yoda, was the breakout star from the Disney+ “Star Wars” series, “The Mandalorian,” but Disney didn’t have any toys available for this past holiday season due to the show’s creator Jon Favreau reportedly forbidding merch production to avoid any spoilers.

The in-demand super-marketable toy made its debut on “Good Morning America” Thursday, along with other Baby Yoda toys that were introduced at a pre-show event at the Toy Fair, which kicks off Saturday at the Javits Center in Manhattan.

Touching the toy’s head activates over 25 sound-and-motion combinations, as the Child’s head moves up and down, ears move back and forth, and eyes open and shut.

Other items introduced at the Toy Fair event were the game “Trouble: The Mandalorian Edition” and “Star Wars Operation: The Mandalorian Edition,” both from Hasbro; Lego products including the BrickHeadz building kits for the Mandalorian and the Child.

Previously announced Baby Yoda items will be arriving as early as next month and May, after being introduced in December. For instance, the Baby Yoda Funko Pop! figure, due in May, is already the top pre-order Funko Pop! of all time, said Funko art director Reis O’Brien.

With a character as delightful and darling as Baby Yoda, Build-A-Bear is in on the huggable action as well and tweeted news about its own cuddly version of the Child: “The cutest creature in the galaxy is arriving at Build-A-Bear Workshop this spring!”
