Super Bowl 2020: What to do in NYC if you don’t care about football

Sure, the Super Bowl always gets a lot of interest. Last year’s game, for example, saw 98 million people watch the New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams on TV. But not everyone is planning to drop everything Sunday for the 2020 Super Bowl pitting the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the San Francisco 49ers, broadcasting live on Fox with kickoff time set for 6:30 p.m. at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Here are some alternative activities for New Yorkers, whose Jets and Giants got nowhere near the Super Bowl this season.

Just say snow

Despite a lack of the white stuff from Mother Nature, the annual Winter Jam goes on in Central Park, thanks to machine-made snow. See ice sculptors at work; go sledding, ice bowling, snowshoeing and lots of other winter joys. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday. Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. Rain or shine. Free.

Watch and repeat

Catch “Groundhog Day” on Saturday, and then see it again on Sunday — the actual Groundhog Day! Bill Murray would be proud. 11 a.m., Saturday and Sunday at Nitehawk Cinema, 188 Prospect Park West, Park Slope. Tickets: $15.

What game?

New York alt-rock band Nada Surf will be playing the same time as the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. Listen for the popular hit “Popular,” as well as tunes from the band’s latest album, “Never Not Together.” 8 p.m., Sunday. Bowery Ballroom, 6 Delancey St. Tickets: $30.
