Dad pens hilarious instructions for daughter to feed wild fox while he’s away

A daughter has joked her dad’s “lost the plot”, after he left her detailed instructions about how to feed a stray fox when he went on holiday.

Amy MacMillan, from East Kilbride, Scotland, was happy to help out around the house – but was baffled by her dad’s handwritten letters about the fox’s chicken dinner.

Posting on Twitter, the assistant producer said: “Ma dad has lost the plot – he’s been feeding a random fox in the front garden for months and has actual pinned up written instructions on how av to feed it whilst he’s on holiday”.

Amy revealed she also “bought him a fox keyring as part of his Christmas as a joke ‘incase he misses it whilst he’s away'” – and was bemused to find her dad attached the gift to his rucksack.

According to her dad’s instructions, Amy needs to feed the fox twice-a-day – with dinner at 6pm sharp and supper at 10pm.

The first note, which is written in fox-like orange, says “feed fox”, with an arrow pointing to the further instructions.

The second letter instructs Amy on a specific meal plan – saying the fox should be fed “3 bigger bits of chicken or 4 chicken drum sticks” at 6pm.

Just four hours later, the furry stray should be given either “4 dog stick chews” or a “handful of biscuits”.

Amy’s tweet racked up 19,000 likes and 1,300 retweets in just a couple of days.

Commenting on the post, bemused Twitter users said: “I love this – staunch note as well haha”, “Awww, your Dad’s sweet” and “fir foxsake”.

Others wrote: “what a lovely man”, “Oh my days what a legend” and “you should be very proud of him”.
