85-year-old woman charged with murder after shooting roommates: cops

An 85-year-old Washington state woman was charged with murder after she opened fire on her roommates, killing one, according to a report.

Beverly Jenne allegedly gunned down one of her roomies and injured another at their Federal Way home, where a chilling note was uncovered inside a gun holster, news station KOMO-TV reported.

The letter, dated around two hours before the Dec. 19 killing, said the slain woman “was not a nice person. She drove me to this.”

Jenne had previously owned the home before it went into foreclosure and was purchased, the outlet reported.

The buyer rented the property to two sisters in their 30s and allowed Jenne to continue to live there while she looked for a new place, the report said.

Police said they received a 911 call from one of the roommates around 1 a.m. claiming she was shot inside her home.

Officers arrived to find one of the sisters dead and the other in critical condition. She was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Jenne was discovered trying to strangle herself with an electric cord and brought to a Tacoma hospital, KOMO reported.

She will be booked into jail on $1 million bail when she is released from the hospital, the report said. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 6.
