Lazy Santas who are too busy to decorate their Christmas trees are enlisting the help of two enterprising elves.
Aussie sisters Veronika Gentile and Giovanna Avati are making holiday-season bank by bedecking other people’s trees.
Melbourne-based, the pair charges $26 per hour to spruce up the spruces. They usually employ flowers and ornaments that are already owned by their customers.
A perfect side hustle, the gig, according to the Daily Mail, earned the sibs $416 before Dec. 1. They say that it will defray the cost of this year’s Christmas expenses.
Gentile explained that the business began for all the right reasons.

“Four years ago, I told my husband I wanted to deck out the house for Christmas,” Gentile says. “I started getting a lot of attention from friends. They loved my ornaments and one of them even asked if I would set up their tree for them.”
Flattered, Gentile and Avati, 30 and 40, respectively, did it for free. In short order, though, they sensed a burgeoning business. Typically spending two hours decorating each tree, the sisters cater to folks who have more money than time.
Along the way, they have developed a few tricks of the trade that us amateur tree trimmers can benefit from.
“It’s all about positioning,” Gentile says. “For my own tree” –— yes, she decorates it herself — “I place my ornament, stand back and figure out if it works in that space. I do the same thing for other people.”
