The Oscars ooze prestige — but the Golden Globes are all about the party.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the guest list for its 2020 Golden Globe Awards bash Monday at 8 a.m., honoring the year’s best performances and productions in film and television.
Dakota Fanning (“Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood”), Tim Allen (“Last Man Standing”) and Susan Kelechi Watson (“This is Us”) revealed the first batch of major award nominations via livestream on the Globes’ official website and Facebook page. Fanning, 25, Allen, 66, and Watson, 38, then announced the 12 other major categories in a live segment on NBC’s “Today.”
Next up: Irreverent actor-writer Ricky Gervais, 58, is set to host the 77th annual Golden Globes telecast Jan. 5 on NBC. The snarky Brit whipped up ample controversy when he previously helmed the ceremony from 2010 to 2012 — and vows next year’s stint will be his last.
“Once again, they’ve made me an offer I can’t refuse,” Gervais told Deadline in November. “But this is the very last time I’m doing this, which could make for a fun evening.”
