Model Bre Tiesi officially filed for divorce from former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel, TMZ Sports reported Wednesday.
The couple initially broke up earlier this year after just one year of marriage. Tiesi accused Manziel of cheating on her while responding to comments on Instagram questioning why she expunged pictures of the former Browns first-round pick from her social media.
“u been married? U been betrayed I don’t do betrayal for a person I was devoted to period. Vows were broken f— money and f— u and every other loser on here,” Tiesi wrote in a March post that has since been deleted.
Tiesi, who began dating Manziel in 2016, filed the divorce documents Wednesday morning in Los Angeles, per TMZ.
In August, Tiesi had all of her Johnny Football-inspired tattoos removed, claiming there was no chance of repairing their relationship. Speaking with TMZ Sports after the break-up, Manziel said the split was “all very, very personal and very sad.”
“I appreciate everyone who has been so supportive of both of us, and I would just ask that everyone respect our privacy at this difficult time,” Manziel said. “My hope is to put my head down and be allowed to focus on work and what is required of me on the football field.”
Manziel, who has been trying to break back into the NFL since the Browns cut him in 2016, once credited Tiesi with saving his life as he dealt with substance abuse issues. The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner had a brief stint in the Canadian Football League before he was kicked out in February for breaking his contract agreement. He played just two games in the Alliance of American Football before league operations were suspended in April.
