President Trump’s re-election campaign hopes to score a touchdown during Super Bowl LIV — with a high-priced ad airing during the game, according to a report.
The campaign has agreed on “broad terms” with Fox to air the ad during the Feb. 2 game, according to John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, though no contract has reportedly been signed yet.
The network is selling 30-second spots for as much as $5.6 million during the game, which will take place a day before the Iowa caucuses.
Such a political ad would mark the first time a national election spot has been part of the televised Super Bowl in recent years, according to the sports outlet.
A 30-second Trump re-election campaign ad that ran during Game 7 of the World Series last month focused on Trump’s record and bashed the Democrats for their impeachment inquiry.
A Trump campaign official told The Hill that the World Series spot was part of a seven-figure national campaign that would extend beyond the baseball season.
