Stop the presses. The Jets have won two straight games.
On the latest edition of the “Gang’s All Here” Jets football podcast with the New York Post, Brian Costello is joined from Washington by NY Post football columnist Steve Serby. Coz and Serb break down the Jets’ 34-17 victory over the Redskins. They analyze Jamal Adams and the Jets defense’s dominant performance, plus Sam Darnold’s progression in a career-high four-touchdown game. The duo also takes a look at the upcoming schedule for Gang Green and how many wins the 3-7 Jets can wind up with.
The guys then chat with former Jets quarterback Vinny Testaverde. He talks about his time playing in New York, the future of Darnold and his favorite memory from the 1998 Jets that he took to the AFC Championship. Testaverde also talks about playing alongside receivers with big egos, playing for Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick and watching his son play.

Testaverde on playing for Bill Parcells:
Testaverde: When Bill asked me to come play there, I had the upmost respect for him and what he has done with quarterbacks that he has worked with. I know he was brutally tough on them. I knew that he was going to ask me to go play quarterback and focus on my job and my job alone, which I was all for. The more that you can focus on your job and not worry about everybody else, the better you’re going to perform. Bill trusted me to do the things he was asking me to do even though I came from a place where we didn’t have a lot of success, but we somehow got that turned around in New York.
Testaverde on his favorite memory with Jets:
Testaverde: I think my favorite memory right now is after our first playoff win at home against Jacksonville and all the confetti coming down and afterwards seeing the highlights of Mr. Hess and the joy that he had in that victory and just the players and the coaches that we got to celebrate with is certainly a great memory.
Testaverde on playing for his hometown:
Testaverde: There is nothing better, especially when you win…coming home and playing in front of your family and friends, playing for your hometown team, your team you cheered for when you’re a kid. … It’s always a great experience to be able to do that. That’s a great memory that I’ll be able to have doing that.
Testaverde on playing with receivers with big egos:
Testaverde: Sometimes it’s difficult, especially when you go through a little bit of a losing streak and you have those guys that think they are the difference maker and they want the football to make the difference. I used to be a little rough on the guys and just say, ‘Hey, when you get your opportunity, just make the play and the ball will keep coming back to you. That’s the only way to get the ball on a consistent basis.’ Fortunately, we had a few guys that made a lot of plays and we tried to do our best to get them the ball.
