Steelers’ Mason Rudolph will be fined for role in brawl with Browns

Mason Rudolph isn’t getting off scot free for his role in Thursday’s Browns-Steelers brawl.

The Steelers quarterback is facing a fine for scuffling with Myles Garrett after the Browns lineman wrestled Rudolph down in the final seconds of Cleveland’s 21-7 win. Rudolph then appears to grab unsuccessfully for Garrett’s helmet before the Browns star went after him. Things quickly escalated with Rudolph chasing Garrett, who hit him with his own helmet.

On Friday morning, Garrett was hit with an indefinite suspension, while Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey earned a three-game ban for punching and kicking Garrett and Browns tackle Larry Ogunjobi received one game for shoving Rudolph.

The NFL reportedly won’t be adding any more suspensions to the tally, though the question now is just how much Rudolph’s paycheck will be made lighter.

“I thought it was pretty cowardly and bush-league,” Rudolph told reporters after the dust settled on the loss. “I’m not going to back down from any bully. I felt like I had a bone to pick with him. I appreciate the line always having my back, but I was angry.”
