Trump tweets endorsement of Nikki Haley’s upcoming book

President Trump tweeted an endorsement on Sunday of an upcoming book by former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley that documents alleged efforts by former White House officials to undermine him.

“@NikkiHaley is out with a new book, “With All Due Respect” this week,” Trump wrote. “Make sure you order your copy today, or stop by one of her book tour stops to get a copy and say hello. Good luck Nikki!”

Outlined in Haley’s tome, which will be released Tuesday, are details on how former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson embarked on a coordinated effort to resist Trump in order to “save the country.”

Haley recalled a closed-door meeting with Tillerson and Kelly, where they ask her to join the resistance.

“Kelly and Tillerson confided in me that when they resisted the president, they weren’t being insubordinate, they were trying to save the country,” Haley wrote, according to CBS News, which got an advance copy of the new tome.

“Tillerson went on to tell me the reason he resisted the president’s decisions was because, if he didn’t, people would die.”

Haley said she was offended that Tillerson and Kelly would try to undermine Trump.

Tillerson was fired by Trump in March 2018 and Kelly left the White House eight months later. They could not be reached for comment.

Haley resigned as United Nations ambassador in October 2018 and got a friendly farewell from the president.
