Australian wildfires turn deadly, killing several people and destroying dozens of homes

At least three people are dead, four are missing and about 150 homes destroyed in wildfires spreading through the eastern Australian, Reuters reported.

The inferno is currently raging in the town of Glen Innes in New South Wales, roughly 340 miles north of Sydney.

“As we get access to further areas that have been cut off we are expecting worse news again,” Australian Prime Minister Prime Minister Scott Morrison said Saturday, according to the news service.

The blazes come during Australia’s annual bushfire season and has been exacerbated by drought which has ravaged large swaths of the country.
