Redskins vs. Bills prediction, line: Washington will cover

Dave Tuley, senior reporter at VSiN.com, is in his second season with the Post’s Bettor’s Guide. His handicapping pieces appear in VSiN’s online magazine, Point Spread Weekly.

Washington Redskins (+9½) over BUFFALO BILLS: I’ve had a great handle on the Bills so far this season — backed them as underdogs early in the season over the Jets and Patriots but faded them against the Dolphins and Eagles the past two weeks recently. I respect the Buffalo defense, but because of its methodical offense, this team shouldn’t be favored by this many points. The Redskins cashed for us last Thursday with the VSiN Top Play against the Vikings, and I expect a similar result here, as Case Keenum does just enough to keep the Redskins within the number.

NEW YORK GIANTS (+7) over Dallas Cowboys: I’ve waffled back and forth on this week’s “Monday Night Football offering, mostly due to a distrust of the Giants’ defense to contain the Cowboys’ offense (see Dak Prescott’s 405-yard performance in the 35-17 rout back in the first meeting in Week 1). But I’m taking the prime-time home ’dog. The Giants are at least coming off a decent effort in their spread-covering loss at Detroit while the Cowboys are coming off a bye. A lot of people like to bet a team off its bye, but I’m hoping maybe a little rust set in and took away the Cowboys’ momentum from their 37-10 rout of the Eagles the last time we saw them. Besides, if the Jets could beat the Cowboys, 24-22, in MetLife Stadium, why can’t the Giants at least stay within a TD?

Last week: 0-2. Cardinals (L). Bengals (L).
Season: 8-8.
