Woman clinging to life after being struck by bus in the Bronx

A 52-year-old woman is fighting for her life after getting struck by a bus in front of Lehman College in the Bronx, police said Wednesday.

The woman was crossing the street at the intersection of Bedford Park Boulevard West and Paul Avenue at about 8 p.m. Tuesday when she was struck by a Bee-Line bus making a left turn at a green light on Paul Avenue, according to police.

The 43-year-old bus driver was traveling eastbound toward Bedford Park Boulevard West when the front bumper of the bus struck the woman, cops said.

The Bee-Line is Westchester County’s bus system, which accommodates 27 million passengers annually, according to its website.

The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital with life-threatening injuries to the head and torso, police said.

It is unclear at this time if passengers were aboard the bus, police said.

The bus driver remained on the scene, cops added.

No arrests have been made.
