A California toddler died after her mom left her locked in a car for five hours — with the heat on and the windows rolled up — as she drank with a friend, according to a new report.

June Love Augusto, 2, was found unconscious inside her mom’s car, parked in the Los Angeles neighborhood of West Carson in the early hours of Sept. 22, according to LA County medical examiner reports obtained by KTLA.

Around 11:30 p.m. the night before, the toddler’s mother left the toddler alone in the car, and then got into another car nearby to drink with a friend, she told authorities, according to the coroner’s report.

Before she left the car, she added, she turned on the heater and threw a blanket over her daughter’s lap so she wouldn’t get cold.

The woman fell asleep and didn’t check on her daughter again until around 5 a.m., the report said. She found June unresponsive in her car seat.

“Vomit was present on her shirt and the car seat. Skin was coming off [June’s] back,” said the report, obtained by the station. “[The mother] places her on the grass and sprayed her with the water hose in an attempt to cool her down.”

The woman dialed 911 and paramedics brought the girl to a local hospital, where her body temperature was 107.5 degrees upon arrival.

She was pronounced dead the next day.

Her mother had not been arrested as of Monday, LA County booking records show.

Back in 2013, she lost custody of another child who was 3 years old at the time, the Norwich Bulletin reported. The woman, along with a man, was arrested on charges of cocaine possession with the intent to sell, operating a drug factory and risk of injury to a child.

This time of year, overnight temperatures dip into the low 60s in West Carson. At the height of the day, temperatures can rise to anywhere between the mid-70s and the low 80s.
