Pot-smoking Staten Islander drives over cop’s foot and flees: sources

A driver on Staten Island, who was allegedly smoking marijuana, closed the car window on an NYPD officer’s arm on Sunday night and sped off — driving over the cop’s foot in the process, sources said.

The suspect was driving a Mercedes sedan at around 10 p.m. in Elm Park when he was pulled over for an excessive tint on his windows, according to police sources.

As the driver was being questioned by police he became irate when the officer smelled marijuana, the sources said.

The suspect proceeded to close the window on the officer’s arm, and the officer smashed the glass window with his hand.

The driver accelerated the vehicle and ran over the officer’s foot.

The officer was taken to Richmond University Medical Center with lacerations to his hand.

Cops were looking for the Mercedes and the suspect on Sunday night.
