NYPD cops, officials salute body of slain Officer Brian Mulkeen

Rows of city cops and police officials stood at attention as the body of slain NYPD Officer Brian Mulkeen was removed from the city medical examiner’s office Monday.

Grim-faced officers saluted as they lined the streets outside the ME’s office in Manhattan when an NYPD ambulance carrying the remains of the 33-year-old hero cop rolled past with a police escort.

Mulkeen, who was on the force for nearly seven years, was fatally shot early Sunday outside a housing project in the Bronx after he got into a violent struggle with an ex-con.

The officer, who was in plainclothes, was shot three times and rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he died.

The funeral date and other arrangements for Mulkeen have not yet been set.

Meanwhile, a woman, likely Mulkeen’s cop girlfriend, was spotted leaving their Yorktown Heights home Monday morning with detectives in tow.

She covered her face and did not respond to questions from reporters.
