Redskins make in-game switch to Dwayne Haskins against Giants

The Washington Redskins have turned to Dwayne Haskins.

With 6:35 left in the second quarter Sunday against the Giants, Redskins coach Jay Gruden benched Case Keenum for Haskins, who went No. 15 overall in this year’s NFL Draft, nine picks after the Giants selected Daniel Jones.

Gruden had sounded reluctant during the week to make a quarterback switch, but the Redskins were down 14-0 at the time of the change and Keenum badly overthrew wide-open receivers multiple times on Sunday.

Keenum was 6-for-11 with 37 yards and an interception before being benched.
