Giants were on Jameis Winston’s mind during Buccaneers upset

How’s this for a rebound from Tampa Bay’s come-from-ahead loss last week to Daniel Jones and the Giants?

The Buccaneers built a 21-point lead in the first half Sunday, but unlike last week’s meltdown, Jameis Winston said they made sure “we finished” in a wild 55-40 shootout win against the previously unbeaten Rams in Los Angeles.

“B.A. put it on the board at the beginning of the week: Finish,” Winston said, referring to Tampa Bay coach Bruce Arians. “It was fun being in the Coliseum, L.A., under the lights, camera, action of Hollywood. We had a great game and have to continue to do that.”

Winston passed for 385 yards and threw two of his four touchdown passes to Chris Godwin (12 catches, 172 yards). Ndamukong Suh returned a Jared Goff fumble 37 yards for a late touchdown to seal the highest-scoring game in franchise history.

Goff threw for 517 yards, tied for eighth-most all-time, on 68 pass attempts (tied for third-most), but he also threw three interceptions, in the Rams’ first loss of the season.
